By booking with Adelaide Delivery Services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Definitions
Contractor refers to Adelaide Delivery Services, including its employees and subcontractors.
Customer refers to the individual or business authorizing services from the Contractor.
2. General Terms
Communication: All notices to the Customer will be given via phone call or text message.
Modifications: Any changes to the agreement must be mutually agreed upon in writing.
3. Service Conditions
Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to decline any job if the environment is unsafe, or if items are hazardous, flammable, or could cause damage or injury.
Transport Route: We may choose the most practical route or method based on logistics.
Delivery Conditions: If no authorized person (18+) is available at the destination, we reserve the right to offload to nearby safe storage, at the Customer’s cost.
Access Issues: If access is restricted or inaccurate information was provided, additional charges or job cancellation may apply.
Dangerous Goods: We do not move items that are flammable, corrosive, explosive, or pest-prone. Discovery of such items gives us the right to dispose of them at the Customer’s expense.
Left or Misplaced Items: The Customer must ensure all intended goods are moved. We are not liable for items left behind or moved by mistake.
4. Responsibilities
Customer Authority: By booking, the Customer confirms ownership or authority to move all goods. Any liability from third-party claims will be borne by the Customer.
Supervision Required: The Customer (or an authorized person) must be present during loading/unloading. Entry into our vehicles is prohibited for insurance reasons.
Timely Notifications: We’ll inform you of any major changes in your booking time or date as early as possible.
5. Payment Terms
Billing: Time is charged in 30-minute increments from the truck’s arrival until the last item is unloaded. Payment is due immediately upon job completion unless otherwise agreed.
Right to Withhold Goods: If payment is not made, we may hold items until the outstanding amount is paid. After 28 days, unsold items may be liquidated, and legal action may be taken for recovery.
6. Insurance & Claims
Our Liability: We are responsible for damage caused during the move, subject to the exclusions and limitations below.
Excess: The Customer must pay the first $500 of any valid claim.
Exclusions Include:
Items packed/unpacked by someone other than our team.
Plants, pets, perishables, valuables over $500 unless declared.
Fridges, washing machines, dryers, glass, fragile items, and flat-pack furniture (e.g. IKEA) are moved at owner’s risk.
Claim Reporting: All claims must be reported before our team leaves the delivery site. Claims reported after this time will not be accepted.
7. Legal Notice
Agreement Acceptance: By proceeding with a booking, the Customer confirms they’ve read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
Jurisdiction: All disputes are subject to the laws of South Australia.
